About Our Company

Varnished Anatomy Tattoo has been serving the Ogden Utah area since 2020. Founded by owner/artist Kyle Stofferahn who has been in the industry for 15 years. Born in Bakersfield California and raised in Ogden Utah, Kyle has been doing art since he was very young. He’s won many awards at tattoo conventions and has been published in multiple magazines. We currently have 9 artists who specialize in several different styles who will take your ideas to the next level.

Recovery Derm

Around 24 hrs after completing your tattoo. Wash your tattoo with a paper towel, in a circular massaging motion, with unscented soap, and warm water. Thoroughly rinse off the tattoo and insure there is no dried plasma. Pat tattoo dry with a paper towel and let air dry for approximately 15 minutes. Next follow these steps to apply your Recovery Derm Shield.

Step 1

Trim the Recovery Derm Shield to be approximately 1″-2″ larger all the way around your tattoo.

Step 2

Peel off the white backing layer.

Step 3

Apply the Derm Shield to the tattoo and work out as many air bubbles and wrinkles as possible.

Step 4

Find the orange arrows and peel back the layer with the printed crosses.

Step 5

Remove all of the printed layer leaving only the thin layer of Recovery Derm pressing it down if it starts to lift up..

Step 6

Using your fingers, work out any more air bubbles amd wrinles if possible. Don’t pop the air bubbles and add an extra piece of Derm to any wrinkle crease that goes from the tattoo to the edge.

Leave the Recovery Derm Shield on for 5-7 days as recommended by your artist. It will protect your tattoo during it’s healing process. After the 5-7 days, gently peel away the Derm Shield back over itself. This will work best while under warm, running water. Once it has all been removed, wash your tattoo with unscented soap and warm water. Use unscented lotion 1-3 x a day for the remainder of the healing process. (We carry many different tattoo aftercare products at the shop for purchase.)
